Vietnam congratulates the Chinese Government and the Chinese people on that the World Trade Organization (WTO) has officially approved China's membership, a Vietnamese spokeswoman said Sunday in Hanoi.

Vietnam congratulates the Chinese Government and the Chinese people on that the World Trade Organization (WTO) has officially approved China's membership, a Vietnamese spokeswoman said Sunday in Hanoi.
Responding to a question about Vietnam's reaction to China's accession into WTO, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Phan Thuy Thanh said the event is a great achievement of the Chinese people, marking the fully integrating into the World economy, affirming Chinese people's outstanding achievements in the national construction, and demonstrating China's unceasingly-increasing international prestige and standing.
Meanwhile, she noted, it is also an important event in the development process of WTO.
She expressed her confidence that after the WTO accession, China, a big economy and large market in the World, will make important contributions to the promoting common prosperity in the region and the world as well.
The Vietnamese spokeswoman also indicated the hope that being a full WTO membership, China will continue to actively support and help Vietnam's early accession into the world's trading body.
The World Trade Organization approved China's accession into the global trading body in Doha, Qatar's capital, on Saturday evening.
