Chinese Premier Arrives in Bali to Continue Indonesian Tour

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji arrived in Bali Friday to continue his five-day official visit to Indonesia.

Chinese Premier Zhu Rongji arrived in Bali Friday to continue his five-day official visit to Indonesia.

As Zhu walked down from the special plane, he received a warm welcome from local officials. Upon his arrival at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, he was warmly greeted by hundreds of representatives of overseas Chinese, local citizens and artists who gave musical performance and presented flowers to him.

The Chinese premier, who began his current Indonesian tour Wednesday, has held talks with Indonesian President Megawati Soekarnoputri and met with Indonesian parliamentary leaders Amien Rais and Akbar Tanjung respectively in Jakarta.

The two sides expressed willingness to expand economic cooperation between the two countries and enforce friendly relations between the two peoples.
