The Chinese government has presented the Provisional Methods of Administration of Tariffs and Quota of Imported Agricultural Products to the Chinese media and invites public opinion on the draft regulations.
The State Development Planning Commission (SDPC) said in a news release Friday that the new regulations are designed to standardize government practice in managing the quota of imported agricultural products after China's accession to the World Trade Organization. The regulations are to increase the transparency of the administration of import quotas and make it easier for end users to apply for and fully utilize the quotas.
The SDPC said it is ready to listen to opinions from all sectors of society until November 20.
