The company set up its first office in Beijing in October and they have plan to operate offices in Shanghai and Guangzhou in the future.
"We are excited at the Chinese marketplace. Its infrastructure is enormous. As it is preparing for the WTO, its banking and telecom industries have strong demand to improve efficiency and competitiveness through high technology," Byrd said.
The COO also mentioned the challenges they faced in the Chinese Mainland, "The biggest challenge is lack of professionals there."
To meet this challenge, Brocade will cooperate with the Chinese IT community and educational institutions to train professionals. It had already cooperated with Qinghua University, one of the most famous universities in China.
