BEIJING, June 12 (Xinhua) -- As close neighbors connected by mountains and rivers and a lasting bond of friendship between their peoples, China and Tajikistan have "set a fine example of friendship and cooperation between countries different in system, culture and size," said Chinese President Xi Jinping. Xi made the remarks in a signed article titled "Working Together for a Brighter Future of China-Tajikistan Friendship" and published Wednesday on Tajik media on the eve of his state visit to the Central Asian country.

People from all walks of life in Kyrgyzstan are looking forward to President Xi Jinping’s state visit, which is believed to promote the cooperation between the two countries, said Mahabat Mavlyanova, a member of the Kyrgyz Parliament. Mavlyanova made the remarks in an interview with People’s Daily ahead of President Xi’s state visit to Kyrgyzstan and attendance at the 19th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
BEIJING, June 11 (Xinhua) -- China's economic and trade ties with Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have yielded fruitful results over years of joint efforts to promote the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). The relationships are expected to be deepened as Chinese President Xi Jinping travels to Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan from June 12 to 16 for state visits as well as the 19th meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the fifth summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
