Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG), the largest manmade botanical garden with the richest life forms, is established on this aftermost stretch rain forest on the Chinese territory. Founded in 1959, Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) is located at 21º55' N, 101º15'E, covering an area of 1,100 ha. Over 13,000 species of tropical plants are well preserved in its 35 living collections.
The lush trees make Xishuangbanna Tropical Botanical Garden (XTBG) an ideal location for birds to nest and lay their guides. According to observation and statistics by bird lovers, more than 200 bird species are found in the garden. XTBG is also a right place for bird watching expeditions.
