Kunming, the source of the Zhujiang River in Zhanyi, Colorful sand forest in Luliang, Phoenix Valley in Shizong, The Three Gorges of Lubuge in Luoping
Suggested itinerary: five days and four nights
1st day: Kunming 2nd day: the source of the Zhujiang River, 3rd day: colorful sand forest, 4th day: Phoenix Valley, 5th day: The Three Gorges of Lubuge
The source of the Zhujiang River, the third largest river in China, has a marvelous spectacle. In late spring and early summer, the mountain is covered with beautiful azaleas.
(Notes: Zhujiang River, with many tributaries and abundance in runoff volume, flows by the evergreen mountains south to Nanling Mountain Chain. The headstream of Zhujiang River is the Nanpan River of Xijiang River.
There in the scenic spot are more than 1,000 kinds of plants and such wild animals as hares, pheasants, squirrels, and so on. It is not very hot in summer and not very cold in winter. You can see flowers in bloom and hear birds singing in all of the four seasons.
Wonders such as one mountain dividing up two rivers (the South Pan River and the North Pan River), one water running into three rivers (the South Pan River, the North Pan River, and Bullpen River), and one string through five "pearls" (lakes))
The colorful sand forest is a colorful magic castle; it is the result of weather denudation. With the improvement of environment, this spectacle might disappear in the near future.
(Notes: Luliang County has a colorful sand forest. The colors of the sand forest change with the seasons, under changing climatic conditions and from different angles. The colors also vary according to sunlight and moonlight exposure.
The whole Sand Forest looks like a Y. The main tinges here are yellow, white, red and grey. The Colourful Sand Forest came into being about 340 million years ago. It was a physiognomic wonder resulting from the gradual influence of the impacts of earthquakes, the ejection of the magma, the movement of the earth's crust, and the erosion of the wind and rain.)
When sunlight shines the caves, the Phoenix Valley looks so alive.
The Three Gorges of Lubuge is hidden in the bamboos. Monkeys, mandarin ducks and wild ducks appear from time to time, and then they disappear again.
(Notes: The Three Gorges of Lubuge is located 40 kilometers southeast of the county seat. Lubuge is a Buyi word, meaning "a beautiful Buyi village". The major scenic spot there is the famous Lubuge Power Station Dam and its artificial lake. Natural sceneries are lion Gap, "Beauty toiletry", "monkey fishing," and "double elephants drinking water," "Dragon Falls ", etc, which make visitors reluctant to leave.)
