How will China's domestic security solution providers seize the opportunity when Window XP support ends?
Windows XP support ends on April 8. This means that Microsoft will discontinue any security updates, technical support, and security patches. As a result, if Windows XP users continue running the system, more and more critical security holes will appear, and their computers will become increasingly vulnerable to hackers and attacks. Consumers should consider protecting their computers, and it is important that they migrate to a current operating system that is supported. An Yang, an expert from China's 360 safeguard, says that users would be well advised to update their system to Windows 7 or 8 to keep their computer safe.
As an alternative to updating their system, users can also choose third-party security software to protect Window XP from malicious attacks. According to CNTV, many of China’s security and anti-virus software companies see a good opportunity in providing their own support solutions to fix XP loopholes, taking advantage of the 300 million user base. IT giants like Tencent, 360 Safeguard, and Kingsoft will provide technical assistance for Windows XP users for system upgrades and risk defense.
In China, state-own enterprises and government institutions are the biggest potential market for these IT security companies, because most of these firms are still using Windows XP. They now need an immediately upgrading with full protection.
