CHINA READJUSTS SEARCH EFFORTS
China has made all-out efforts to search for the missing plane using 18 vessels, eight helicopters and three fixed-wing aircraft as of Monday, said He.
Previously, China readjusted its search efforts several times in accordance with the search areas announced by the Malaysian government.
As the multinational search operation went on, China shifted its search focus from the South China Sea to waters southeast of the Bay of Bengal and west of Indonesia, and to the southern Indian Ocean.
On March 20, Chinese President Xi Jinping said in a phone conversation with Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott that although search and rescue efforts were difficult, full efforts should be made as long as there is still a gleam of hope.
FAMILIES' ANGUISH
Those who had loved ones on board the plane still expect to see their husbands, wives, parents and children back from an unknown journey.
A message from Malaysia Airlines saying that the plane "has been lost and that none of those on board survived" has dashed nearly all hope, but a notice board in the Metro Park Lido Hotel, where daily briefings were held, is full of wishes:
"I have bought a diamond ring. I want you to come back and wear it on our wedding day."
"Dear father, please come back, it is so painful for me to live the days without you."
"Honey, our son and I will always be waiting for you."
"Pray for MH370, safe trip back home."0 Family members prayed for passengers on board the missing flight early morning on Tuesday at the Lido Hotel in Beijing after a month of searching for the missing aircraft.
For them, truth may be the best comfort after all.
