China's lunar probe Chang'e-3, with the country's first moon rover Yutu (or Jade Rabbit) onboard, touched down in Sinus Iridum, or the Bay of Rainbows on the moon, Dec. 14, 2013, making China the third country which achieved a soft landing on the surface of an extraterrestrial body after the United States and the former Soviet Union.
