"I'll be back."
US movie star Arnold Schwarzenegger wrote his famous line on the museum guestbook after he visited the Terracotta Warriors in Xi'an on Dec 5.
Schwarzenegger, who had arrived the evening before, was making his fifth visit to China. On Dec 5, he attended a culture forum in Xi'an, one of the most famous Chinese historical cities.
The former California governor said he has always been interested in Chinese culture and had been looking forward a long time to seeing the Terracotta Warriors.
Schwarzenegger said seeing the Terracotta Warriors was a moving experience because it is rare to see such a well-preserved piece of history.
“Thank you for showing us the 8th Wonder of the World. I'll be back,” he wrote on the guestbook of the Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Museum, where the Terracotta Warriors are located.
After the visit to the historic site, Schwarzenegger appeared on a program of Shaanxi Satellite Television, in which he talked to Zhang Jizhong, a Chinese director of kungfu movies and TV series, about culture in China and the United States.
The 66-year-old native of Austria has been well-known by Chinese audiences for decades, with a string of successful films such as The Terminator, Total Recall and True Lies. He was the governor of California from 2003 to 2011.
