Maldives is attempting to increase fish exports to China after it loses duty-free status in the European Union (EU), Maldivian Fisheries Minister Ahmed Shafeeu said on Thursday. As the Maldives has been removed from the least developed countries category, the current exemption of duty on Maldives' fish exports to EU countries will expire in December and EU is refusing to extend it, according to Maldives Economic Minister Ahmed Mohamed.
