World's highest Amitabha Buddha statue completed in Jiangxi (3)

A 48-meter-high bronze statue of Amitabha Buddha is seen on the top of a hill in Xingzi County, Jiangxi Province, March 3, 2013. The gilding work of the statue is completed on Sunday. The Buddha statue has been recognized as the highest Amitabha Buddha in the world and the only outdoor Amitabha Buddha in China. A total of 48-kilogram gold has been used to gild the Statue. The overall style of the Amitabha Buddha imitates the Buddha statues in the Longmen Grottoes and it can be regarded as a fine religious art with the highest level in the modem society, according to the principal of the project.
