Fu Ying debuted at the Great Hall of the People as the spokesperson for the first session of the 12th National People's Congress (NPC) in Beijing, China, March 4, 2013. Born in 1953, the spokesperson was a diplomat of Mongolian ethnic group. Fu had respectively served as the Ambassador to the Philippines, Australia and the UK before she was appointed as Vice minister of Foreign Affairs in 2009. She became the 7th spokesperson of the NPC in March of 2013. (Xinhua)
