Ganyu Port, in the north of eastern China's Jiangsu province, opened to vessels for pilot navigation on Monday. It is one of the port areas of Lianyungang Port. Investment in the first phase of the project amounted to 4.2 billion yuan, including a 150,000-ton liquid chemical wharf and three 150,000-ton general cargo terminals and related facilities.

The port of Ganyu is a major project of Jiangsu's coastal development, and it will become a new pass to the sea for the north of Jiangsu and south of Shandong.
