More than 200 valuable and historic photographs from National Geographic magazine were on first auction at Christie’s, on New York on Dec. 6, 2012.

This auction “The National Geographic Collection: The art of Exploration” featured photographs and arts selected from the National Geographic Collection, and chronicled scientific expeditions, explorations, archaeology, wildlife and world cultures from 19th century to now.
