Even though it is the main vacation destination of Indonesia, Bali is a reasonably inexpensive destination even for mid-range travelers. It is comparable to many destinations in Southeast Asia. True bargains can be had in Bali for no-frills backpackers who squeeze major bang out of a modest budget. Excepting those who demand four- or five-star luxury, the most expensive part of going to Bali will prove to be the airfare.
