The photo, taken on September 5, shows peach-blossom jellyfish at Changsha Jianshanhu Park.
Peach-blossom jellyfish or craspedacusta sowerbii are primitive animals with extremely high research and ornamental values. They are also known as “giant panda in the water”. They are very picky about the growth environment and only live in clean rivers and lakes.
Since its completion in 2016, Jianshanhu Park has paid attention to water environment management and built water purification facilities. In recent years, peach-blossom jellyfish appear at the park every year. (en.changsha.gov.cn; Photo/Tian Chao, Hunan Daily)
