A piece of glass pane plummeted from the 76th floor of China’s tallest skyscraper Shanghai Tower in Shanghai on Monday, injuring a driver on the ground.
The glass dropped when workers with the Shenyang Yuanda Aluminum Industry Engineering Co. Ltd, a supplier of the curtain wall, were replacing the glass that was damaged, the Shanghai Tower said in a statement.

The glass landed and crashed beside a driver who was just getting off his car. Some broken glass scraps jumped onto the foot of the driver, causing injuries. The driver was sent to hospital.
According to photos being posted online, broken glass is scattering beneath a Tesla vehicle. Scraps can also be seen around the road.

The cause of the accident was still under investigation, the building’s operator said.
“We will take further measures to prevent similar accident in the future,” it said in the statement.

The 632-meter building is the world’s second-tallest building. It has launched a trial opening of its 35-meter-tall five-floor annex which includes restaurants, conference rooms and wedding and banquet halls as well as the underground exhibition hall about the building's details.
