World’s Iconic Landmarks Appear in Japanese Theme Park, but at 1/25 Scale

For those who long to see the world's most iconic sights, but don't want to pay the high price for the numerous flights, a theme park in Tokyo, Japan, can now satisfy your dream, so long as you don’t mind seeing them at 1/25 scale.

Tobu World Square has 120 replicas of famous landmarks including the Parthenon, the Colosseum, The Great Wall of China, the Statue of Liberty, Gaudi's Cathedral, Big Ben and, even the Twin Towers.

Divided across into five geographic regions, the park has replicas from 21 countries, including Egypt, Europe, America, Japan and Asia, 45 of which are UNESCO World Heritage listed sites.

The exhibit includes 140,000 people, each about three inches tall and all telling a story. One scene in New York depicts a policeman in pursuit of gun-toting bank robbers.

The park took five years to build on 87,000 square metres of land, and was first opened to public in 1993.
