Love is in the air: Male red squirrel captured presenting flowers to his “girlfriend”

These lovely pictures taken by Russian photographer Vadim Trunov show that a red squirrel celebrates the springtime with his girlfriend by presenting her with a basket of beautiful blue flowers in the forest in Voronezh region of Russia.

The bushy tailed creature first sampled two different selections of flowers one containing red tulips and another containing bluebells. After smelling both, he chose the bluebells and pushed the gift towards his friend. The female squirrel looks delighted with the show of affection as she sniffs the pretty flowers.
