The 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics officials on Friday unveiled four designs of emblems for a shortlist of logos.
One of the emblems is inspired by the ancient gods of wind and thunder, while one includes a a circle that "expresses the connection between the dynamism of the athletes and the joy of the spectators". There is another design that’s based on the upwards-facing morning glory flower.
These four logos were submitted through a public competition that received 14,599 entries and took a panel of judges 20 months to choose.
