Photos taken on February 27, 2016 show that a footbridge ribbons high buildings 40 meters above the ground in southwest China’s Chongqing municipality. The bridge, 2 meters wide and 70 meters long, is supported by a mere cement pillar in the middle.

Known as the “mountain city” in China, Chongqing covers a large area crisscrossed by mountains and rivers. With sharp rises and falls, Chongqing would awe those who come for the first time to see light rails, expressways, pedestrian walkways and flyovers everywhere in the city. You may as well have an apartment on the 56th floor in Chongqing, but a footbridge can go right outside your balcony as the pictures show.
