Recently an app called family doctor started test run in a community in Beijing, making it much more convenient for the patients to consult a professional doctor at home.
Since the beginning of 2015, the new mode of “Internet + medical care” has been prevailing nationally. According to statistics, at least 300 large hospitals in China have set up “mobile Internet hospital,” and over 2,000 mobile medical apps have been invented. “Mobile hospital” has been focusing on addressing problems and inconveniences in traditional medical care.
Going to a hospital for consulting a doctor usually takes a long time in China. From registration, waiting for diagnose, to purchasing medicines on the prescription, the lengthy process has been a concern for many patients. Online hospital brings hope to this deep-rooted issue. July 2014, the “fingertip hospital” was launched in Foshan city, Guangdong, which enables patients to make appointment and pay their bills through WeChat, saving a lot of time.
In addition to regular process of going to the hospital, some of the apps even realized “private family doctor” program. With the program, patients can build stable relationship with a registered doctor, and they are able to conveniently consult the doctor and have their health condition monitored. According to the plan made by National Health and Family Planning Commission, each family is expected to be assigned with a qualified registered family doctor by the end of 2020, and the “mobile hospitals” are an important first step in this plan.
