On November 30, President Xi Jinping delivered a key speech at the opening ceremony of Paris climate change conference. Xi made a comprehensive explanation of Beijing's views and proposals on global climate governance to the world. He advocated all states to work together to reach an international climate agreement, which aims to establish a global mechanism for countering climate change after 2020.

President Xi also stated that China always serves as an active participant to counter climate change. Beijing has placed the construction of ecological civilization as an important part of China's 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020). Beijing has confidence and is determined to achieve its commitments to global climate governance.

Countering climate change is a common cause of mankind, and the Paris Conference provides an important opportunity to strengthen actions of combating the climate change, which constitutes a big challenge to all countries.

In his speech, Xi reiterated the principle of "common but differentiated responsibilities," and listed Beijing's proposal, concept, and scheme for global climate governance, which set up a new blueprint and indicate a new direction for global climate governance.

It is worth mentioning that the President Xi cited Beijing's measures, policies and commitments to combating climate change and promote international cooperation, which reflects China's sincerity and highlights a major country's responsibility and burden.

It is expected that the world would give audience to Beijing's proposals, attach importance to China's contribution, jointly making Paris climate change conference to produce ambitious and successful outcomes.
