The Mars probe independently developed by China will debut at the 17th China International Industry Fair held from Nov. 3 to Nov. 7 in Shanghai, Xinhua reported.
At the exhibition stand of the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation, the golden Mars probe is taking center stage.
According to Niu Shengda, a satellite expert from the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, China's Mars probe will fulfill two missions: global remote sensing of Mars and a landing inspection and survey. Therefore, the Mars probe has two parts: an orbiting device and a lander. The ratio of the exhibited Mars probe and the real object is 1:3. The probe is equipped with a white high gain antenna, which will help the communication between the earth and Mars.
After years of research, the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation has made major breakthroughs in many key technologies and the Mars probe is planned to be launched in 2020.
