20 foreign writers, translators and publishers are awarded the 9th China Book Award for Special Contributions, to commend their great and long lasting contributions to introducing Chinese books overseas. The press conference for the award was held in Beijing on Aug. 25, 2015.
Among them, 15 were awarded China Book Award for Special Contributions, including sinologist, writer Colin Patrick Mackerras from Australia, writer Lisa Carducci from Canada, ethnic Chinese translator Cheng Baoyi and sinologist Joël Bellassen from France, sinologist Helwig Schmidt-Glintzer from Germany, director of New York University press center Robert Barns and sinologist Guy Salvatore Alitto from USA.
Five others are awarded the Youth Achievement Award of China Book Award for Special Contributions, which is newly set up. They are publisher Ahmed Sayed from Egypt, ethnic Chinese translator Guang Min from Myanmar, translator Zumboli Clara from Hungary, writer Samir from Jordan, translator Eric Abrahamsen from the U.S.
The prize winners shared their indissoluble bonds with China and interacted with the media at the press conference. There are altogether 69 foreigners who have won "China Book Award for Special Contributions" so far.
