According to the written confession of Seizaburo Katagiri on 17 August 1954, he was born in Niigata Prefecture, Japan in 1915. He joined the Japanese War of Aggression against China in 1936 and was captured in August 1945.

Major offences:

In June 1936: In the Army hospital of Harbin, “in order to study medicine and educate recruits,” the companions “vivisected” a Chinese man about 40 years old. “In order to study human anatomy, I took out his internal organs on the operating table and directly executed anatomical killing.”

From December 1936 to January 1937: In the Army hospital of Mudanjiang, the companions, “in order to test the effectiveness of poison gas (corrosive)”, kept the three men about 30 years old “detained in the surgical hut, painted the gas in every place of the bodies of the victims (with their hands tied behind their back), and determined the condition and time of spreading, and killed them”.

In September 1937: In Tianzhen County, Chahar Province, “after the troops charged into the town they bayoneted and shot 1000 peaceful residents”.

From August to November 1937: “Of Korean women lured and detained, raped one in Chengde, Jehol Province and two in Datong, Shanxi Province”.

From June to December 1942: In Laiwu County, Shandong Province, “raped 20 times a Korean woman lured and detained”.

In September 1943: “According to plans in the upper strata of 59th Division of 12th Army, attempted to spread cholera bacteria in western Shandong region; in order to increase the effectiveness in spreading, dug three openings in the Weihe River dam near Linqing and killed more than 20,000 people (this was just the victims according to the survey of 44th Battalion; the exact number of victims exceeded the figure)”.

From December 1942 to October 1944: In Tai’an, Shandong Province, “raped 80 times a Korean woman lured and detained”.

In November 1944: Near Qingshuipo, Shandong Province, “a peaceful peasant (man) approximately 30-40 years old came near the village”. At the time, two colleagues “on horsebacks hacked him to death”.

In November 1944: In a village in Shandong Province, the colleagues “in order to carry out the test of their katanas” “beheaded a peaceful peasant arrested”.

From December 1944 to March 1945: In Tai’an County, “raped four times three Chinese women lured and detained”.

During the invasion in China, “with threat of weapons raped 12 peaceful housewives”, “raped five Chinese women lured and detained”, “raped nine Korean women lured and detained”, “in total 26”.
