London Aug. 25 (People’s Daily Online) —— London tube strike by the RMT, TSSA and Unite unions that was set to disrupt Tube services this week has been suspended, London Underground (LU) has confirmed.
The suspension comes following two weeks of constructive talks between LU and unions. LU remains operationally ready to start the Night Tube on 12 September and talks with unions aimed at resolving the dispute will now continue.
Nick Brown, Managing Director for London Underground, said: "It is good news for London that the strike has been suspended. We will now continue to work with unions, so that we can resolve this dispute and get on with delivering for our customers, businesses and London."
LU has engaged with the unions over the last six months. Talks with the unions will now continue towards reaching an agreement that is affordable, sustainable and fair.
