Netizens around the world extend condolences over deadly explosions in Tianjin

“God’s grace [on] the people living in Tianjin,” a netizen named Daniel Jones from Oregon, U.S.A., wrote on People’s Daily’s Twitter account. 

Thousands of netizens sent condolences and expressed their support to Chinese people through the official social media accounts of People’s Daily after the explosion ripped through a warehouse in north China's Tianjin City late Wednesday night, killing at least 114 people as of August 19.

After the blasts, People's Daily Online uploaded on Youtube a video footage filmed by a Tianjin citizen at the scene (https://youtu.be/BRYojKzC-xY), in which huge mushroom clouds and blazing fire can be seen looming over the city. 

As of August 18, the footage has attracted 306,000 viewers from all over the world, with 238 “Like” and over 130 comments. The video also went viral on People’s Daily’s Facebook (@PeoplesDaily) and Twitter (@Pdchina) accounts.

Scott Miller, a Facebook user from the U.S.A., commented saying, “My sympathies to all the firefighters that were lost. I'm from a family of firefighters and no matter what country you are from, China, Spain, France, Iran or Iraq, we are all brothers with one common bond.”

XHN SCRAPY, another netizen (HALO2VISTA) from California who was shocked and devastated by the tragedy, commented, “I hope you guys over there are all ok and get through that. That is a crazy scene like a movie. Hope everyone is ok.”

Neil ‏@NPSusa wrote on Twitter, “There's not a feeling heart on earth who doesn't ache for the residents of this city. They come first, those responsible, second.”

"As a Pakistani, on behalf of the people of my nation, we stand with our Chinese brothers and sisters in their tough times. Thoughts and prayers for the families who lost their loved ones," Tee Raja wrote on Facebook.

Meanwhile, the deadly accident also make netizens’ reflect on what precautionary measures should be done in the future.

"How much dangerous chemicals are transported by train through major cities every day in America?” Michael Forrest commented on Youtube.

Kalki Avatara commneted on Facebook, "Elite leaders need to take notes, where there are actions, they are also many re-actions, and sometimes many innocent souls get killed or hurt."
