Suzhou classical garden has gained international fame, with more than 40 Suzhou gardens built in over 30 countries and regions, People's Daily reported.
A small traditional Chinese garden, Jingyuan Garden, was built in Santa Lucia of Malta by the Suzhou Garden Development Co., Ltd. It features waterscape, courtyards and winding paths amid shady trees. Recently, the mayor of Santa Lucia sent a letter of thanks, saying that the Jingyuan Garden had become one of the city's most influential tourist sites and landmarks, which has set up a golden bridge of friendship and culture communication between Malta and China.
Jingyuan Garden is only one of the more than 40 overseas Suzhou gardens.
The traditional Chinese garden Mingxuan is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and attracts many tourists every day. In 1979, on the invitation of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Mingxuan became China's first exported garden.
The success of Mingxuan has drawn more admirers worldwide to Suzhou. Suzhou gardens are exported one after another. Yili Garden near the Court of Versailles is the first Chinese traditional garden in France. Taking an area of 6,000 square meters, the garden attracts many tourists by its delicate layout and unique architecture style.

Heng Fengchun, director of Suzhou Garden Designing Institute, introduced that so far, more than 40 Suzhou Gardens are built in over 30 countries and regions, such as Ruisu Garden in the WTO headquarter in Switzerland, Tang City in Singapore, Liufang Garden in Huntington Library in California and Lansu Garden in Portland.
