The Iran Nuclear Deal completed earlier this summer is approaching some headwinds. The Republican-dominated congress has announced it holds enough votes to prevent the bill from passing. Currently with 246 seats in congress, it’s widely believed that gathering 218 votes-necessary for stopping the bill-would be simple. What won’t be, however, is that President Obama holds the ability to veto their decision-something he would really like to not do.

Yesterday, the US Senate prevented a bill that would effectively strip Planned Parenthood of its federal funding. Planned Parenthood is a non-profit organization that provides reproductive health and childcare services. They help young women with receiving abortions-a service many believe should not receive federal money. However, others are quick to point out that federal money is not actually used for abortions; rather, it is used for other services like cancer screenings and birth control.
