KUALA LUMPUR, May 15 -- A Chinese tourist was killed and another injured on Thursday in a car accident in Malaysia's eastern state of Sabah, according to the Chinese Consulate in Kota Kinabalu.
It was reported that the two Chinese women, both from China's Zhejiang Province, were knocked down by a car when they were crossing a road in Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah.
Kota Kinabalu police chief ACP M. Chandra said that the accident occurred at about 10:22 p.m., and one woman died on the spot while the other got her left leg injured.
The official of the Chinese Consulate in Kota Kinabalu visited the injured Chinese citizen in the hospital, and urged the local police to timely deal with the accident in a fair and appropriate way. The next-of-kins of the victims have also been notified of the accident.
