FUZHOU, May 11 -- The Joyair plane that veering off a runway upon landing in southeast China's Fuzhou city is likely the result of human factors, aviation authorities said on Monday.

According to the East China Regional Administration of the Civil Aviation Administration of China, there is no evidence linking the accident to mechanical failures of the aircraft.

A thorough investigation is still under way.

Joyair flight JR1529, with 45 passengers and seven cabin crew on board, careered off the runway when landing at Fuzhou Changle International Airport on Sunday noon, leaving five people slightly injured.

The aircraft, a China-built Modern Ark 60 (MA60), was flying on a connecting route between Fuzhou, the eastern city of Yiwu in Zhejiang Province, and Hefei in east China's Anhui Province.

Joyair issued an apology to the public on its official website, and pledged to investigate the cause.
