HANGZHOU, April 27 -- Citizens of China's eastern city of Hangzhou can now use WeChat, an instant messaging application, to report corruption, local authority said on Monday.

Anyone who follows "Clean Hangzhou", the official WeChat account of the city's discipline inspection committee, can take snapshots and videos of corrupt behavior by government officials and upload them.

The committee listed numerous examples, including private use of government vehicles, travelling and feasting at public expense, taking bribes, and extravagant marriage and funeral banquets.

In addition to when and where, faces and actions should be clear, and car plates or invoices involved should be recognizable. Retouched photos and videos are not acceptable.
