JAKARTA, April 20 -- China and Angola have conducted quite fruitful cooperation in many areas, but there is still more the two countries can jointly achieve, Angolan foreign minister said Monday.
"China is participating in Angola's infrastructure construction...but we still need many more roads and airports. I think this is one area that we can work on a little bit more," Georges Chikoti told Xinhua on the sidelines of the Asian-African Ministerial Meeting.
The ministerial meeting, which was held ahead of the commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference, highlighted the South-South cooperation.
China and Angola can also cooperate further in the production of electrical facilities, agriculture, trade and buildup of industrial capacity, Chikoti stressed. China is Angola's biggest trading partner while Angola is a major trading partner of China in Africa.
What needs to be done is keep identifying more and more projects that can be introduced into both countries, he added.
China has proven to be "a good representative of South countries," and it is expected to stand up even stronger in defending the interests of Asian and African countries and promote development in the two regions, the foreign minister said.
