TOKYO, April 12 -- Japan, China and South Koreaon Sunday agreed to launch joint tourism event, the Visit East Asia Campaign, to make the three countries as a tourism combination to attract visitors beyond East Asia.
According to a joint statement released after a meeting of chiefs in charge tourism in the three countries here on Sunday, they will enhance cooperation and information sharing among their branches in Europe and America to attract more tourists from the regions.
They also agreed to make joint efforts to improve the interconnection and interworking system in the region and facilitate cooperation in tourism in terms of developing new tourism products.
The three countries will play a more and more important role in the area of tourism in Asia and the world so that they will continue to further trilateral exchanges in this field, according to the statement.
