On March 28, Chinese President Xi Jinping expounded the “One Belt and One Road” strategy and announced that the implementation plan has been drawn up. The great strategy is a part of China’s diplomacy and is a demonstration of inclusiveness.
The aim of the strategy is inclusive. The aim of “One Belt and One Road” is to build an open, balanced, and inclusive regional economic cooperation platform. The Chinese are not the only people along the road who will enjoy more development opportunities – the citizens of other countries will share the results of economic development. China welcomes other foreign countries to join it on the track to rapid growth , win-win cooperation, and shared prosperity. The first priority of the strategy is regional cooperation. China has no plans to impose its development strategy on other counties. One Belt and One Road” is based on negotiation and joint construction.
The implementation plan is inclusive. The initiative is a supplement to rather than a replacement for existing bilateral and regional mechanisms. China proposes to build a sound bilateral mechanism and strengthen multilateral mechanisms. The countries along the road abound in different resources and their economies are complementary, so there is huge potential for greater cooperation.
The partners involved in the construction of “One Belt and One Road” are inclusive. The cold war mentality has been abandoned, so that all countries can take part in the initiative whatever their institutions, religions and civilizations. This new development is a part of China’s plans to restructure international relationships. It is to be expected that “One Belt and One Road” will encounter doubts and criticism at its early stages but China will remain committed. The strategy will withstand the test of time precisely because of its inclusiveness.
