The Boao Forum for Asia annual conference, with the theme of "Asia's New Future: Towards a Community of Common Destiny", was held from March 26 to March 29 in southern China's Hainan Province. 

Sixteen foreign leaders and more than eighty ministerial-level officials were participate at the forum. They include Indonesian President Djoko, President of Nepal Yadav, Australian Governor Cosgrove, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte, President of Zambia Lungu, and Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov. Large numbers of entrepreneurs will also participate in the forum.

This is the third time that Chinese President Xi Jinping has attended the Boao Forum for Asia, showing that China rates it highly and hopes to use it to strengthen cooperation with the world.

The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a key topic at the forum. Britain, Germany, France, Italy, Switzerland and a number of other countries have confirmed their intention to become founding members of the AIIB. March 31 is the deadline for countries to apply to join the bank as founding members, and the related rules and operating plans, and the bank's impact on the new international financial order in the future, have attracted attention from media and industrial professionals.

Development stands together with peace and stability. To promote development through cooperation is the concern of all nations. The China-proposed "One Belt, One Road" has won widespread acknowledgement and international support. Exchanges and discussions at the Boao Forum for Asia will continue to promote the implementation of this key initiative.

The economic outlook in Asia and the rest of the world, monetary policy, and the global economic agenda have been forecast and discussed during the forum. Internet technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship are new forum highlights.

In addition, a series of issues related to standards of living and quality of life, such as food security, human viruses, smog and health, the rural and agricultural balance, intergenerational mobility, family heritage, and corruption and government-business relations, are the topics of the forum.
