San Francisco, Mar. 24, (People's Daily Online)----Over 80 local Chinese American organizations in Northern California jointly announced on Monday that a big gala will be held to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.

Global Alliance for Preserving the History of WW II in Asia among others said at the news conference in Milpitas that a grand gala will be held on August 16 in San Jose to celebrate the victory. Dai Qi, CEO of Chinese Ticket Box said that it will be the largest overseas celebration of this kind around the world.

It's said that actors and actresses from Chinese mainland and Taiwan are invited to give performances at the celebration. And a documentary about the war will be played.

The organizer said that the local communities hold the event in a bid to memorize the history, honor the martyrs, cherish peace and open up to the future. Some children of the veterans of the war have also been invited to attend the event.

2015 marks the 70th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War, as well as the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
