Chinese President Xi Jinping tops the list of distinguished guests set to attend the opening ceremony of the 2015 Boao Forum for Asia, held from March 26 to 29 in Boao, Hainan Province.

This is Xi’s third year attending the forum. While serving as China’s vice president in 2010, Xi delivered a keynote speech at the annual conference themed “Working Together for Asia's Green and Sustainable Development.” In 2013, Xi, as newly elected president, gave a speech themed “Working Together Toward a Better Future For Asia and the World.”

Xi has since shown his strong support for the Boao Forum in order to help boost Asian cooperation and development.

In his keynote speech on April 10, 2010, Xi emphasized that green and sustainable development is a crucial world trend. He urged Asian countries to strengthen cooperation in building green and sustainable development.

In 2013, Xi stressed in his speech that Asian countries should join in their common destiny and adapt to the times. Asian countries should move together to push Asia and the world toward a new stage in global development. Xi's proposal to build a sense of common destiny has become a focus of the international community.

The 2015 Boao annual conference is themed “Asia's New Future: Toward a Community of Common Destiny.” According to scholars, Boao Forum has become an important platform for China to highlight its standpoints and advance exchanges with other Asian countries and the rest of the world. As China’s top leader, Xi's presence will draw more attention to the conference from around the world. Asia's future will focus on cooperation and development.
