BEIJING, March 22-- Russian President Vladimir Putin probably doesn't know Viktor Petrov, a character from the third season of U.S. political thriller House of Cards who strikingly resembles him.
No one in the Kremlin has watched House of Cards, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has told Russian News Service. "We have not watched it ... and we have not heard that (Putin's) image was used."
The third season of House of Cards dwelled upon the relationship between Moscow and Washington, featuring Petrov against the protagonist, President Frank Underwood.
The two attempted to resolve a string of international crises while striving to promote their own national agendas, generating numerous frictions.
The popular TV series detailed the scheming of politicians and lobbyists on Capitol Hill, centering on Underwood, a cunning U.S. politician and master of power manipulation played by Kevin Spacey.
Last summer, Russia's UN delegation reportedly turned down a request by the show's producers to use its New York headquarters as the backdrop to two episodes.
