TAIPEI, Feb. 16 -- Taiwan's administrative body announced Monday it has approved the resignation of mainland affairs chief Wang Yu-chi, who will be replaced by Andrew Hsia.
In a statement announcing the personnel change, the administrative body said it believes Hsia, 65, is capable of continuing to advance cross-Strait relations with his administration experience and ability to implement policies.
Wang offered his resignation on Tuesday last week following a decision by prosecutors not to indict Chang Hsien-yao for allegedly leaking official secrets due to a lack of evidence.
Wang forced Chang to quit last August over the allegation.
