RIGA, Feb. 11 -- With the Chinese New Year approaching, staff of the Chinese Embassy in Latvia and the Chinese Association of Latvia went to Raiskuma boarding school-Rehabilitation Centre on Wednesday to send New Year gifts and blessing for children with disabilities.
They brought gifts, including laptops, television, books, stationery, clothing, crafts and candy for the children with disabilities.
Raiskuma District Mayor Hardijs Vents welcomed the Chinese guests and thanked the Chinese New Year gifts.
He hoped that Chinese enterprises and businessmen to invest and cooperation on Raiskuma district's agriculture and forestry development.
They also attach great importance to the development of tourism in the district, which has a lot of historic heritage and beautiful scenery tourism projects, said the mayor.
Raiskuma boarding school-Rehabilitation Centre was built in 1957, a good education institution and rehabilitation center for disabled children. Many Paralympic athletes had studied at this school.
