Naples, November 11 - "Made in Naples" fashion is walking down the catwalk this hoping to conquer European markets. The Italian Chamber of Commerce has invited operators from Romania, Switzerland and Germany to Naples to foster cooperation with local businessmen from the textile and clothing industry and promote trade. The idea was promoted by the Chamber of commerce through its Euro-desk, a special agency for international promotion and trade.

Twenty Swiss, German and Romanian importers selected by the Italian Chambers of Commerce in Switzerland and Germany and by the Italian Institute of Commerce in Bucharest watched "made in Naples" dresses, bags and bathing-suits walk down the catwalk.

The business-to-business meetings taking place in Naples are intended to facilitate product-exchange deals.

According to Bruno Indelicato, marketing supervisor of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Switzerland: ''it's important to be aware that German and Swiss businessmen are usually keen to explore Italian products. They are particularly drawn to Italian fashion and are familiar with the textile industry of the south of Italy and the Neapolitan one in particular. "Our objective is to make the products from these areas even more attractive and strike deals". Anisoara Condeescu, market analyst at the Italian institute of commerce in Bucharest added: ''it's well-known that Romania is a big producer of textile and apparel. Production collaborations as well as commercial ones could be successful because made in Italy is renowned and Rumanians like to dress well too".
