ALMATY, Kazakhstan, Nov. 10  -- Chinese Liao Hui won three gold medals at the men's 69kg class at the World Weightlifting Championships on Monday here.

The Chinese lifted 166kg in snatch and 193kg in clean-and-jerk for a winning total of 359 kg. His 166kg performance in snatch broke the world record of 165kg set by Bulgaria's Markov Georgi, and he also broke his own world mark of 358kg for total.

Egypt's Mahmoud Mohamed finished second while Kim Myong Hyok from DPRK took the bronze.
