NEW YORK, Nov. 10 -- The National Committee on U.S.-China Relations (NCUSCR) held its annual Gala Dinner on Monday to seek support for promoting mutual understandings between China and the United States.
NCUSCR President Stephen Orlins urged the U.S. and China to jointly confront the problems of today's world, such as climate change, terrorism, pandemic disease, poverty and economic disaster.
"Over the past year, we have been working hard to ensure that the U.S.-China relationship prospers, and that our two countries can cooperate in combating these threats," he said.
More than 500 people, including business leaders, public officials and senior Chinese diplomats, gathered at the event to review year's development of Sino-U.S. relations.
