"Breaking Bad" wins top Emmy prize

LOS ANGLES, Aug. 25 -- AMC's "Breaking Bad" won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards ceremony here on Monday night.

The drama also won the prizes for other parts. Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul won the awards for lead actor and supporting actor respectively. Anna Gunn won the prize for supporting actress and Moira Walley-Beckett won the Emmy for writer. And Cranston's win marks his fourth Emmy for his role as Walter White in the series from 2008 to 2013.

"Downton Abbey," "Game of Thrones," "House of Cards," "True Detective" and "Mad Men" were also nominated for the top prize.

Despite strong support for HBO's crime drama "True Detective," "Breaking Bad" won the award for the second straight year.

The 66th Emmy Awards ceremony gave totally 26 golden statuettes to actors, actresses, producers and other excellent people who worked for TV series.

The ceremony, hosted by Seth Meyers, was held in Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

Broadcast in more than 150 countries around the globe, the show usually attracts some 600 million viewers.
