BEIJING, Aug. 22 -- China's senior security official met Indonesian anti-terrorism chief in Beijing on Friday, with the pair vowing more cooperation in fighting terrorism.
Meng Jianzhu told Ansyaad Mbai, head of the Indonesian National Counter Terrorism Agency, that he hopes the two sides can jointly safeguard regional and national peace and stability.
Meng, head of the Commission for Political and Legal Affairs of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, noted that both China and Indonesia are victims of terrorism, and that anti-terrorism cooperation forms an important part of the two countries' overall partnership.
Mbai said Indonesia attaches great importance to its cooperation with China, and supports China's anti-terrorism efforts. He vowed better joint work with China in this regard.
