SHANGHAI, July 15 -- China won the team event at the FINA Diving World Cup in Shanghai here on Tuesday.

Chinese divers Huang Xiaohui and Chen Aisen collected 408.60 points from three solid dives each to win the title, while Ukraine's Oleksandr Bondar/Yulia Prokopchuk came second in 390.55. Russian Nadezhda Bazhina/Victor Minibaev took third in 381.30.

The team event is composed of six dives in three rounds. Each round includes two dives finished by a male diver and a female diver each.

"Actually I didn't perform well today," said China's Huang. "But I am happy as I won the World Cup for the first time."

"The team event doesn't require synchronization as the athletes don't dive simultaneously," Chen said. "But it requires the divers to be good at both the platform and the springboard."

The FINA Diving World Cup runs from July 15 to 20 in Shanghai.

Wednesday will see the women's 3m springboard synchro and the men's 10m platform synchro.
